Dental pain and urgent care

Start with a phone call.

Call the office if you have dental pain, swelling, a broken or knocked-out tooth, a lost crown or filling, or an injury to your mouth. Please call for availability before walking in. Same-day appointments may be available, but are not guaranteed.

Reasons to call promptly

  • Severe or persistent tooth pain
  • Swelling in the gums, face, or jaw
  • A broken, chipped, cracked, loose, or knocked-out tooth
  • A lost crown, bridge, or filling
  • An injury to the teeth, mouth, or jaw

What to tell the office

A few clear details will help the team understand the situation. Be ready to describe:

  • Where the problem is and when it started
  • Whether you have pain, swelling, bleeding, or an injury
  • Whether a tooth or restoration is broken, loose, or missing
  • Any recent dental treatment involving the area

The next step depends on the exam

The phone call helps the office understand the immediate problem and explain available appointment options. A dentist will need to examine the area before recommending treatment. After the exam, the dentist can explain what was found, what needs attention first, and what care may be required after that.

When to seek emergency medical care

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for difficulty breathing or swallowing, bleeding that will not stop, or severe facial trauma. These can be medical emergencies and should not wait for a dental office visit.

Tell us what is happening

Call the office and describe the pain, damage, swelling, or injury. The team will explain which appointment options are available.
